Description:

Created in early 2024, this work offers a glimpse into an earlier stage of ShouXin’s artistic development, before the emergence of his later Black Cat and Siamese Cat series. Delicate, lightly applied graphite lines shape the cat with a gentle touch, giving the composition a soft and intimate quality distinct from the bolder linework that would characterize many of his later works.
The carefully rendered eyes and subtle facial features emerge from an otherwise restrained arrangement of fine, understated lines. With its generous use of untouched paper and quiet, delicate expression, the work reflects the lighter visual language characteristic of ShouXin’s early drawings and offers a distinctive example of this formative period in his evolving style.
